It's that time of year
We love to hear
sweet words warm our heart.
"A Merry Christmas everyone!"
But some find such words tart.

They think it sour
and act quite dour
whenever someone claims
that Christmas is a holiday
deserving its own name.

It's not PC
to let JC
be given equal rights.
Give Santa Claus
his due applause
Just don't sing Silent Night.

Give me a break
for Heaven's sake.
Why should Christians lose out
when Kwanzee-a
and Hanukkah
are guaranteed their clout?

Let's gripe and whine
that lit Scotch Pines
can't be called Christmas trees.
The foes of Christ
with blood like ice
must not do what they please.

They need to see
that we are free
to say Merry Christmas.
That's what it is.
Come on, gee whiz.
What really is the fuss?
