So guests are coming to your home, to dine at your table, to discover how you live - and you want to look your best, do your best and COOK your best, right??? Come along with me as we dine at Peggie's breakfast table, compliments of Dr. Joe, the host cook and resident chemist, who, of course, knows how to make the best waffles in the world!

You start off with a new Belgian waffle-maker, you PAM it to prevent sticking - and then you wait for the little light to come on, reporting, "It's done....waffle batch number one!" - BUT.......you get a little impatient, you decide to peek BEFORE it's done, and the waffle woes begin!

Laugh, Learn and Live . . . . . . Dealing with the Crumbs of Life!

The Waffle - Life's Expectations!

....drama continues - or begins! Half the almost-done waffle sticks to the upper half of the waffle-maker; the other half sticks to the lower half - and you've got a mess. What to do? Engage the help of the other chemist in the house - your tall, all-knowing son - begin scraping, literally SCRAPING top and bottom of the "stupid" waffle-maker while your guests await the scrumptious results at the table. Fill one plate with scraps of tasty waffles and keep digging. Provide bacon to fill in the blanks and keep scraping.......until, finally, amid gales of laughter, you begin again and FINALLY provide decent, delicious waffles worth waiting for - we think.......

Sounds like LIFE in YOUR HOME too? Life's realities may end up far-removed from its expectations and what to do? LAUGH - - it's just a waffle in a world full of much bigger problems, and.......you've just made a marvelous memory you - and your relatives - will never forget. The Lord's still in control, even in our failed and foiled expectations, whatever they may be - and that's what counts - today and every day!!

The Woe - Life's Let-downs!

Life is full of let-downs, waffles woes included and much more! And what to do? LEARN - God has a lesson for each mini- and maxi- "woe" that happens in our private worlds. He's still Lord; the woes we experience are minute in the face of eternity and yet, He still understands our failings, our faults, our foibles - and loves us anyway. And if our relatives/friends are REAL relatives/friends, they'll understand too. The Lord's still in control, even in life's let-downs - and that's what counts - today and every day!!

The Word - Life's Resource

When it's all said and done, when the laughter ceases, the waffles are consumed, and the table cleared, He's not done with us yet! He nudges us on, beyond the hard places, to LIVE in His WORD. It's remarkably full of the hurts and healings - and even humor - of Bible heroes who had "CRUMMY waffle days" too.....and they made it. They encouraged themselves in the Lord; His Word became a living resource and reality in their waffled world. Let it be so with us amidst the woes and wonders of a 21st century world of waffling everywhere!! The Lord's still in control of it all - and that's what counts - today and every day!

When things go wrong in your world, laugh, learn and live in the Light of your Lord. As His marvelous light shines onto and into our lives, it all looks so much better - even a crummy waffle or two! Now believe it, laugh, learn and live along with the Bohanon family - and know that HE's still in control - and THAT's what really counts!!
