Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for Today: "The Day Daddy Prayed for Me!"

Today's Bible reading: John 17:20-23 (NIV) . . . Visit Bible Gateway every day!

I'll never forget it - I lay across the bed devastated, in tears, over the "Dear Jane" letter I had just received...it was the end - THE END.....and the tears flowed freely. Lest you feel too sorry for me on that long-ago day, know that I DID get over it, more tears would flow over more men (if you're a woman, you can probably relate!) - and I, now a happily married woman of nearly 30 years, would survive to tell this tale.

But back to the tears....I heard footsteps coming up the stairs to my bedroom on the second floor...It wasn't Santa Claus or the snow man; it wasn't Sir Valentine or the Easter Bunny.....it was MY DAD.....and guess what happened next?

He walked into the room, knelt beside my bed and began to pray, REALLY pray.....He prayed for ME, his broken-hearted daughter, and for God's perfect Will for my life, the private moment of a dad and a daughter (now years later, told to the whole world through a technology that did not even exist that day!).

Now you may or may not have had a godly dad who would ever dream of doing something so spiritually-great as to kneel down and pray with his daughter. Perhaps your dad was absent or abusive or away from God. Your dad wasn't "there" for you and I am so sorry....but wait a minute - HE is....

He is your Heavenly Father who loves you dearly, who "kneels" with you each time you cry, each time you're afraid, each time you hurt - He is THERE and you can cry, "Abba, Father!" You are His beloved child and He prays for you THIS DAY. Believe it, receive it, and have a wonderful, God-ordained, heaven-blessed, choco-rich day!
