I would not honor him by capitalizing the title of his book or his name--I will, however, credit him as the skillful, scheming author of a "bestseller"...and by the time you finish reading this, I believe you will too!
I love God's Word. It has been implanted in me from a young child. I have married a man who makes the same commitment. We have taught it to our children-- and I have proclaimed it to you on the Web daily--around the world. It is the true and living Word of a true and living God--unalterable, undeniable, immutable, immeasurable--and immortal. It has stood the test of time; it has stayed the course of our lives; it is forever settled in heaven and secure in our hearts.
"REALLLY?" Another voice from the pit pipes up loud and clear...he hands you HIS "gospel"--ANOTHER gospel as false as the costume he wears. He's not the grinch from Seuss--he's the grinch from hell...a make-believe character who will rob, steal and destroy your life--all with a charming, clever smile on his face. Listen carefully and you'll hear his gospel proclaim despondency, discouragement, despair--the lies he tells will infiltrate your soul and spirit and drag you down to defeat.
Let me elaborate! GOD'S Gospel promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." The GRINCH repeats it--with a sneer that says, "He HAS left you and forsaken you!" GOD'S Gospel proclaims, "And it came to pass..." The GRINCH grins and says, "Oh no--can't you see? '..And it's come to STAY!' This trial is not just for a season--God's not on His Throne; He doesn't hear and answer prayer...where IS He!"
On and on the grinch will rant and rave, denying every promise God ever gave you, attempting to destroy every ounce of faith He's given you. He will quote Scripture to you--no, he will MIS-quote Scripture to you--until you are a basket case of doubt, anxiety, fear and unbelief. What to do?
Go get on your armor; grab the Sword of the Spirit, which is the true Word of God, "RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU!" Remember, "he is a liar, the father of lies--the truth is not in him." The "gospel according to grinch" is a gross distortion of the Word of God--don't give in to it; don't believe it; don't dwell on it. Believe HIS Word, the eternal, everlasting, living Word of God--kick the grinch off the premises, burn his blasted book--and you will have a GREAT day!
