You may have heard the story of the minister who was in the middle of
preaching quite a long sermon... 20 minutes went by and then 30
minutes, and then 40 minutes, and he was still going strong in the
pulpit.
At this point, while he was preaching, he noticed one of his top lay
leaders get up and leave the church... This bothered the minister,
but not enough to prevent him from preaching onward with great
fervor....
Near the end of the service, the lay leader came back into the church
and returned to his seat. After the service, the curious minister
asked the man why he left.
He said, "I left to get a hair cut."
"A hair cut?" said the minister. Couldn't you have gotten your hair
cut before you came to church?"
The man replied, "Before I came to church, I didn't need a hair
cut."
