An Encouraging Word for Times Like These
"When People Fail...God Is Faithful!"
We live in an imperfect world, and people fail--look in the mirror and you'll see the one you know best--we all fail to measure up to another's expectations--or the world's expectations--at one time or another in our lives. So what to do?
Take those disappointments and down-times to the Lord...for whatever others do or don't do, He remains faithful. Others may forget--He will NEVER forget. Others may fail--He will NEVER NEVER fail! He's a God we can depend on--and He'll be there--when people walk away or just slip away. It's a hard lesson--but that's when we finally learn that HE is really all we need.
Ask the people in 9-11 who were left with no one to depend on--really--except the Lord. Oh, yes, the firefighters and the policemen, the volunteers and the kind strangers, even close family--they were all there...and they will BE there for a long time to come...but sooner or later, these grieving people will discover that there is no one - NO one, who can ultimately console and comfort them like the Lord Jesus. May the Lord bring Christians across the pathway of every tragedy family to lead them to the BEST Friend and Comforter they will ever have.
You may not be going through the grief and loss of a 9 11 experience - or you may be in the middle of it - but HE will be there for you...a God who never forgets, never forsakes and never fails. Run to Him today--to His Word, to His throne of grace--He truly is a Friend who sticketh closer than a brother. Trust Him today--and know the warmth of His love, the peace of His presence, and the unfathomable depths of His grace--amazing grace--that will not fail.
...and that's just a faith-filled thought or two from my heart to yours!
