Welcome to Tower of Strength
Written by Peggie C. Bohanon

the righteous runneth into it, and is safe (Proverbs 18:10)."

"Macy's...and a Message!"
That was long ago. Today we watch the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade--in person or as most of us will do, on TV--but it is not a time of fun, laughter and pure joy--not really. New York has been to hell and back--a nightmare of terror, only not a dream--this was real. And so HOW in the world do you celebrate? HOW in the world do you do a PARADE in the middle of it all? Do you do it at all?
YES, a thousand times YES, says New York, as with pride, it marches to proclaim a stronger spirit and pride in New York--and in America--than ever before. Firefighters, police personnel--our heroes--hold their heads up high--and the crowds cheer....we DO have something to celebrate--the pride, endurance, stamina of a true American--and a God who is seeing us through it all--that's what we celebrate!
And the message of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? It's a three-pointer as all good sermons tend to be (!!) - We'll not give in; we'll not give up and we'll not give out! We will march on, for the world to watch--a proud, patriotic, persevering people of strength, commitment and endurance!
Isn't that not also a message that we as Soldiers of the Light can shout to the demons of the dark? We'll not give in; we'll not give up; we'll not give out! By God's grace, we will endure both personally and corporately. It's in HIS strength and power we will destroy Satan's tactics, terrors and traumas--we will be victorious in the Name of our King, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now believe it, hold your head up high and with that full Armor of God on, march on--you're a Christian soldier in God's parade! We step to the drumbeat of heaven's band; there's victory in our step and heaven in our heart--and we march with a message for the foe: "WE WILL NOT GIVE IN, WE WILL NOT GIVE UP, WE WILL NOT GIVE OUT!" WE are the Army of the Lord!
...and that's just a faith-filled thought or two from my heart to yours!

This Christian home has been visited a zillion times
since December 26, 1995!
Most of the music playing at Peggie's Place originates from Songs of Praise.A Christian crisis devotional in light of the tragedy of terrorism that shook the world on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center, New York City, and the Pentagon, Washington, D. C. May HIS Name be OUR "Tower of Strength" in the days ahead. Be uplifted as you read this devotional, published semi-weekly (each Tuesday and Friday) for your inspiration and encouragement.
An Encouraging Word for Times Like These
I love a parade--my first memory of a parade rewinds time to when I was a VERY little girl. World War II was OVER--the soldiers were coming home. A grand victory parade was held in our small town in Pennsylvania, and though I vaguely remember the soldiers, I do remember the "chubby" (or should I say horizontally-challenged!) man in a hula skirt swaying down the center of the street...it was a time of fun, laughter and pure joy--all over America!

A Scripture reading from His Word, our Strength
"...there is a friend who sticketh closer than a brother (Ephesians 6: 10-18)."
A prayer for His all-sufficient grace "Lord, I've been beaten down by the enemy, weary in the battle, worn in the fight for too long! Today I take new courage and strength--by Your grace, I will not give in, give up and give out. I will rise in Your might and power; I will put on the whole armor of God, and I will march forward in Your Name and for Your Kingdom that will not fail, In Jesus' Name, Amen."
All Scriptures are taken from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
