A Hurting Word...
"Where's the broom closet?" This inquiry came into my mailbox recently, from someone reading on my home page the following disclaimer:

Well, there really IS no broom closet--it is simply tongue-in-cheek humor--but the letter gave me an idea, and now I need a broom graphic--if anyone finds one on the Web, please send it to me, and you will see a broom closet appearing on my page very shortly! I plan to have some fun with this one!
But are make-believe brooms made just to smash evil sites on the World Wide Web? This week, after some rough battles with big and little gremlins around Peggie's Place, I was mad--well, righteously indignant--and ready to hit the REAL enemy with a broom from my closet. Out of that indignation came this devotional. And so what's my word to him, for me, for you? Come to the well and find out! Forget the BROOM--bring your SWORD....for you see, I realized a BROOM won't work...the Word of God WILL!!
A Helping Word...or Two!
Get Off My Back!...Feeling the pressures of emotional battle, as the enemy uses tactics of discouragement, despair, fear, failure, and all other self-defeating emotions to pull you down? The battle is not YOURS--it's the LORD'S! Take up the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and wield it with the power and authority you have as a redeemed, Blood-bought child of God! He is a defeated foe, and Jesus is Victor!
"...When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19 KJV)."
"...Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7 KJV)."

Now go read the end of the Book--and shout it so all earth and heaven hears--Jesus is Victor--HE wins--and so do we!

He's on YOUR back? In YOUR life? In YOUR world? You don't need a BROOM--for "the weapons of our warfare are carnal"--they won't work. I know--and you know--what will--the Word of God, "sharper than any two-edged sword!" Know its power and authority, live in its victory, and go in the strength of the Son of God! Jesus is Victor--now and forevermore! BELIEVE it, RECEIVE it, and BE SET FREE!!
And that's the Living Word--from His heart to yours!
His Healing Word
"Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.....Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, and tke the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6: 13,16,17 KJV)."
"Lord, I'm tired trying to fight the enemy in my own strength. You and I both know it doesn't work. Your Word does, and it is that powerful Word of God that I claim for the battles I fight in my emotions, my life, and my world. I will live in victory and joy this week--because "the battle is the Lord's," and I am victorious in You. In the Name of Jesus, the All-Conquering One, Amen."
