Doctors give me the heebie-jeebies--well, so do hospitals, medical tests, and medical-based TV shows! I'm a real chicken, trust me! Now I CAN remember LONG ago when TV Doctors Ben Casey and Kildare were "ok" because they were cute and I was single...grin...but I am no longer in love with the medical profession! Nothing personal--but I'd just prefer waiting for chocolate ice cream in that COOL place down the street to waiting for a shot in that UNCOOL doctor's office any day! Come on, you would too!
Now, of course, I highly respect and appreciate the medical profession and their expertise--I just don't want to be one of their patients! But sometimes, it IS necessary, and this week saw me in the office of an opthamologist for a needed eye examination. AFTER I heard a simple, untroubling diagnosis, I was able to celebrate the good result with the chocolate ice cream I really preferred--and then, of course, I felt SOOO much better!
Please understand, no matter how nice you are, if you're a doctor about to take my body apart, aging as it may be, I'll want to RUN--the other way! Except for ONE Doctor whom I know well, have chosen as my personal Physician, and will RUN TO in any time of difficulty...I'm sure you've guessed Who He is...Doctor Jesus! Come to the Well with me...there's no waiting room, no medical forms to fill out, and no fee! He's here to help and to heal us all today!
Healing for the Body!
Remember the woman with the issue of blood? She'd been to many physicians, spent much money, and was not cured. Then one day, she desperately pressed through the crowds surrounding Jesus. She reached forth, touched but the hem of His garment, and she was instantly healed.
That same Jesus is still the Great Physician, and able to heal YOUR body...to restore you to health and vitality in miraculous ways. He's done it for others, and He can do it for you. Won't you reach out and touch Him today?
Healing for the Soul!
Remember the woman at the well? She'd been through it all, and found no satisfaction for the thirst of her soul. Then one day, she met HIM, the Great Physician, healer of the soul. He won her heart at the well that day. She found true joy--all the emotional hurts and pain of her sinful soul were washed away by a skillful Heart Surgeon that day. The wounds of her heart were healed, and she would never be the same again.
That same Jesus is still the Great Physician, and able to heal YOUR hurting soul this day...to cleanse every sin, to heal every emotional wound and pain you have ever experienced. He waits for you at the Well...won't you drink from HIS everlasting, living Water today and be made whole?
Healing for the Spirit!
Remember Saul of Tarsus on the Road to Damascus? Out to kill every Christian in sight, a hardened spirit full of hate and anger! Then one day Jesus, the Great Physician, confronted him, right in the middle of the road! He did major surgery on the spirit of this angry man. He cut out the angry sores; he cleansed the festered area; He literally made him a new man until love, compassion, and healing poured from his spirit into the hearts of Christians everywhere. How many times have Paul's Letters ministered to you, a Christian, once the object of his hateful spirit!
That same Jesus is still the Great Physician of the Spirit, and able to heal YOUR angry, hateful spirit this day...to melt the hardness of heart, to bring back the love, gentleness, and compassion you once knew. He waits for you to bring your hurting spirit to the Cross...for THERE He bore all hatred for mankind, as He prayed, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Kneel at His cross and STAY there, until YOU can pray that same prayer, and you will know the freedom of a forgiven spirit. The Great Physician waits...will you be made whole today?

Unlike the doctors you and I know in our world today, no appointment is necessary. He provides free consultation, diagnosis, and treatment. There's only one condition - you MUST obey your Doctor's orders - read His Manual, and then commune frequently with Him. His Words will bring life and healing to your body, soul, and spirit this day--now go out and get that prescription filled this week!
