"God is watching you!" As a little kid, perhaps your Mama sternly warned you of this momentous word. Not to fear! He is NOT the "Big Bad Daddy in the sky," standing sternly, prepared to punish you for each transgression of your life. He is the Heavenly Father who sent Jesus to bear the punishment for you. He was bruised for your sin, and "by His stripes, we are healed!"

HE was hurt that YOU may be healed. And now ironically, the same is true. He does know "your ways" - what you are going through right now. Oftentimes God in His sovereignty allows YOU to be hurt that YOU might heal. And how could I possibly know? Because it happened to me.

Read the poem below, written at a time when hurts in my own life were about to overwhelm me. Little did I know that someday the poem written that day long ago would be read around the world, ministering to the incredible hurts of others I do not even know. May it bless, touch and help to heal your heart this day!

Hurt--to heal!

Peggie C. Bohanon

I cried, "Lord, use me!" He answered, "Wait."

Then came the hurt. Loneliness--I walked through desolation to share His fellowship. Doubt--I wept through despair to seek His faith. Fear--I wrestled through darkness to seize His freedom.

And the Balm of Gilead flowed into the depths of my soul. It cleansed; it soothed; it healed.

Again I cried, "Lord, use me!" This time He answered, "Go!"

"I send you forth to heal. Walk with the lonely-- share with them my fellowship. Weep with the despairing-- seek with them My faith. Wrestle with the fearful-- seize with them My freedom.

And the Balm of Gilead will flow into the depths of their souls. It will cleanse; it will soothe; it will heal."

He spoke again: "My child, I spared you no hurt-- that I might use you to heal!"

He Is Watching You!

In the cafeteria of a Catholic school, the children were lined up for lunch. At the head of the line was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note and she had placed it in front of the apples. The note read: "Take only one, God is watching."

Further down the cafeteria line was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies...

One of the boys had written a note of his own. The note he placed in front of the cookies read: "Take all you want, God is watching the apples."
