She's a saint in MY eyes too. Anne Wooding, age 92, blind to this world's sights--has keen vision into another world where natural sight is not a prerequisite! Her son, Dan Wooding, award-winning British journalist (now residing in Southern California), gives account of his dear mother's life as follows:

"Mrs. Anne Wooding was a pioneer missionary to the blind in Nigeria during the late 1930s. She was attached to SIM and met her husband, Alfred Wooding, while at language school in Jos. Both of them came originally from Liverpool. Mrs. Wooding, who is now aged 92, is the mother of journalist Dan Wooding, who was born in Nigeria, and his sister Mrs. Ruth Ross. Anne Wooding's inspiring story is told in a book called "Blind Faith", which is co-authored with Dan Wooding. Details of how to get the book can be obtained from Dan at e-mail (assistcomm@cs.com). Anne Wooding now lives in a nursing home in New Brighton, England, where she is still serving the Lord."

In a recent newsletter, Dan, founder and director of ASSIST (Aid to Special Saints in Strategic Times), features a devotional by his mother, and has kindly given permission to reprint it. I include it here for the readers of Daily Bible Booster--and trust you will be blessed. Here is a true woman of God, unlimited by sight-impairment in this life, seeing and living "life in the Spirit" with the eyes of heaven and the soul of a saint.

Want to learn her secret? Read "The Secret of a Holy Life" below. I believe you will finish the devotional feeling you have been in the presence of a saint. You have!

THE SECRET OF A HOLY LIFE

"Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee." (Psalm119:2)

By Anne Wooding

For what purpose did the Psalmist hide, or lay up God's Word in his heart? It was to enable him to live a holy life..."That I might not sin against Thee." This was in obedience to God's ancient command through His servant Moses.

We read in Deuteronomy. 6.6, "These words which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart." God afterward said, through the Prophet Isaiah, "Harken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my Law, fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. (Isaiah 2.7.)

We are told, also in Psalm 37, verse 31, with regard to righteousness, that the "Law of His God is in his heart, none of his steps shall slide." Here then, we have the secret of perfected safety, safety in our walk, work, and our hearts, manifesting its teaching in our life. The children of God are to be holy. How is this achieved? We read in I Peter 2,9, that it is by separation and choice. Then in 2 Corinthians 5,21,we see that is by the imputation of Christ's righteousness and holiness. Hebrews. 12, 23, we learn that it is by partaking of a holy principle of grace, whereby the soul is renewed in holiness by degrees, until it attains a perfection of it.

The late Bishop Moule declared that the fully pardoned man must long to be fully holy. In one sense it is indefinable -- it cannot be adequately defined with words -- and they who fully yield themselves to God only know it. It is well to remember that even the best definition of holiness may be faulty and imperfect.

COMPLETE CONFORMITY

So in essence, what is holiness? It is simply complete conformity in all things, whether great or small, to the holy will of God, being of mine mind with God in all the judgments of our mind, in all the feelings of the heart, and in all the out-goings of our life. Agreeing always with God's estimate of things, and not our own preconceived ideas about things.

To be holy means, as the Hebrew suggestions, is to be "wholesome, all of one piece." It is a crisis with a view of process, and is made possible through Christ, for it is wrapped up in Him. It is an experience to be lived through by hiding God's Word in your heart. We have to learn that "Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might no sin against Thee."

blueball Draw from the Well--a song and a prayer for renewing strength for this day

"Lord, quicken my spiritual vision that I may see what the world does not see, that I may live how the world does not live, so that I may teach the world You love how to do the same. Thank You for blessed saints such as Anne Wooding who lead the way for us into the Holy of Holies, where Your presence is all we need. Help us to trust You where we cannot see--knowing that You will always lead the way, In Jesus' Name, Amen."
