Now that Thanksgiving weekend is over, and you are turkey-stuffed and pumpkin-pie-plumped, let's bring out the veggies! Granted, your kids will not cheer the broccoli and the beans--they'll choose Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber VEGGIE TALES any day--but REAL veggies are still good for them! Only MOMS really KNOW that, I suppose, only Moms--and the gardener--who's worked hard to harvest a crop of nutritious, delicious vegetables, so Mom can give us what we need even when we'd rather have dessert!
I know another Gardener who's wants to be sure HIS kids receive the spiritual veggies and vitamins they need. As He labors in our soil--digging, uprooting, weeding--whatever gardeners do, He's also busy growing veggies for us too! Here's a rhyming outline--some VERY VEGGIE BYTES--to help you understand just what this heavenly Gardener has in store for HIS garden kids...
KNOW the goodness of the Gardener! God wants us to dig deep into His Word; to know He is good ALL the time, even when we can't see it--much as our kids can't see the value of those veggies, so good for them!
GROW in the grace of the Gardener! God wants us to grow--and so He tests and tries us to the limit--but NEVER to the limit of His all-sufficient grace. Receive from His hand the very "veggie" you really need this day--and just as your kids grow tall and strong, so will you--in the marvelous grace of Your Lord.
SOW the seed of the Gardener's Word to those around you! And just as you watch with pride, your own kids begin to slowly assimilate the values--and the veggies--so too will the heavenly Gardener see and take pride in the "veggies" that HIS KIDS share with a very needy, hungry world.
Now GO in the SONlight of His love! Even in the winter season--He wants to grow HIS veggies in the garden of your life. He's going to harvest a crop for His glory. So open your heart to the heavenly Gardener; let Him work as He will. HIS veggies are GOOD for you--"O taste and see that the Lord is GOOD1" Believe it and have a great day!
