I heard it on Wednesday night--as did much of the USA and world--when two leaders, with opposite political leanings, came together with one sincere, eloquent call--for the uniting of a divided America, still reeling over five weeks of election words and wounds. I was proud of both of them...I was proud of America.
But America hurts--wounds still sting...and like a little kid riding his first bike, we've got bumps and bruises on all sides...we need healing. No man, no matter how sincere or well-meaning, can bring full relief. We cry out with Peter, "To whom else can we go? Thou alone hast the words of eternal life."
There is One to whom the "hurting kids" of earth can run--a Heavenly Father who heals. It's His awesome promise...and He's got Almighty power to stand behind every awesome promise He makes. HE alone is able to bring peace to warring factions--whether it is our world, our country, political parties, or families of people like you--and me. HE is the Great Healer and the Great Peacemaker for all men and for all time.
Need healing power and peace in YOUR world today? Then run to the source...the Heavenly Father who sent His Son to earth to bring love and healing to us all. He is available to those who truly seek Him with their whole hearts. For in the middle of dissention, discord and distress He comes, the ALMIGHTY ONE, to bring "peace on earth, good will toward men."
Let us join together as brothers and sisters of a hurting family--in prayer for one another, for our leaders and for a united America, for His power and peace to heal the wounds in our great country--and in OUR hearts wherever that hurt hides. Allow Him to enter your personal, hurting world this day with His power and peace--and you will have a wonderful day in His healing presence and love.
God bless America--and you, wherever on Planet Earth you reside. There's healing power and healing peace in HIS love for us all!
