Does the Devil Know Your Name??
Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way
My kids think that I don't know their names--and if you're a mom, if you've ever been "mad" at your kids and in the middle of your "mad," tried to call them by name, I'll bet that you've messed up too! It's pretty funny, but somehow, the emotional turmoil (also known as temper!) trips up the wires in your usually-bright brain and what comes out is either ALL of your kids' names (in or out of order!) or the WRONG ONE--whether you've got ten or two! Of COURSE, you know their names--you're just too whacked-out to SAY them right!
"Name recognition" is an important part of our culture. We look for the designer's name on the dress, the writer's name on the book, the singer's name on the CD--and our OWN names on anything in print--as long as it's not a speeding ticket, a "Wanted" poster or a bill addressed to our residence! We like to be "known!"
The Lord knows us by name--that's wonderful and we take comfort and find security in that knowledge. BUT does the DEVIL know our names? Are we such a threat and danger to the dark kingdom of the foe that our name is on his "wanted" list? It SHOULD be...We should bring fear and terror to the eyes and heart of the enemy when he sees us walk on the scene. He should know without a doubt who we are, whom we serve and on whose Word we stand. We are the people of the Lord--devil, beware!
If the devil is fighting you tooth and nail, thank God--for he knows your name; you're a threat to his kingdom--and in the might of the One whose name is "Lord of hosts," you have the authority and the power to come against him, to defeat him, to declare the victory in the Name of the Lord you love and serve. Now believe it--go forth in HIS NAME--and have a great day!
Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the Water of His Word

Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day
"Lord, may I so let Your Spirit live within me that the enemy will know who I am and whom I serve; lead me forth to victory in YOUR Name, the Name that is above every name, and may I appropriate the power that comes through that Name in my fight against the foe, In Jesus' Name, Amen."
