Remember the old-fashioned "roll calls" in the old-fashioned schools we used to attend? The proper response was "present," of course--but there were always a few "wise guys" in the group who would declare they were "absent!" Well, I am here to call the roll--and to declare that there are at least three that I know on Planet Earth who are present, accounted for, alive and well!
Satan is alive and well...sorry to say! We see the destructive signs of his presence everywhere--on the school grounds, in the workplace, the home, the marketplace, and yes--even the church. This snake's been alive and well for a LONG time--since he first poked up his head in the Garden and said, "Hath God said?" He's been a liar, a deceiver, the prince of darkness since the beginning...and we'd better be wearing our armor when he appears on the scene. Present? Accounted for? You'd better believe it--but you'd also better believe that someday he will be ABSENT...absent from our planet, never to terrorize God's people or our world again...banished to the pit of hell, where he belongs!
"I" am alive and well...happy to say! You see, when this article was written, I was just getting over the "crud," had just been delivered from major computer woes. I'd had my morning coffee, enjoyed my fast-food morning breakfast, delighted in God's Word--and yet TODAY, you can mark me present, accounted for, alive and well. Now, of course, I've got my bad days--we all do--but I have an eternal reason to be "alive and well" today--and every day. God's got a wonderful plan for my life--HE indwells me--and I am alive INDEED...because...
HE is alive and well...praise the Lord! God reigns in His universe, but most importantly, He reigns in my heart. He is living within me, within the temple He has prepared for me to worship Him--and I do. He walks with me, He talks with me--He is the Resurrected Lord of MY life--and yours too, if you know Him too! He is actively engaged in wonderful plans for our lives, intensely interested in the cares of our lives--and exceedingly able to do whatever needs done in our lives--through us, with us, in us, and for us! He is alive INDEED!
Now believe it! Even someday when you are ABSENT from the BODY, you will be PRESENT with the Lord, ALIVE 'n WELL! Go get on your armor for the day, smile at yourself in the mirror and say, "Self, I am alive and well today--in the Name of the Lord! He lives and I do too!" Have a great day in Him today!
