Thunders--and Wonders!
Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way
Not the kind we had last night--streaks of lightning, rubbles of noise--but I was safe inside, with nothing to fear....BUT the safety of my computer! We shut it down, as all good computer-owners are told to do in a storm, and of course, that meant, horror of horrors, that I could not access my email!
Well, neither the lightning, the thunder, nor my lack of computer access killed me, thank goodness, and eventually, I was able to retrieve my mail. In the box was the neatest letter from a lady, going through difficult, dark times. She had accessed my page last night and found the peace she needed--in the middle of MY storm!
You see, the Internet works 24/7--and everyone, everywhere, could get my page--except ME! But that was OK - and once again, the wonders of this cutting-edge technology hit me anew and afresh! Where but in cyberspace could you minister in the middle of the storm to someone you'd never met and didn't even know was needing help! Thank GOD for the wonders of the Web!
Got a storm in your life today? Wonder of Wonders, GOD is there - somewhere - in the middle of that storm! He may not appear, as in the Bible passage today, in a wind, a fire, an earthquake--or even last night's thunder--but He'll be there in a still, small voice, whispering peace to your heart. Let the lightning flash, let the thunder roll--and know that, wonder of wonders, out of that storm, He can bring peace to your troubled soul! Believe it--and you will have a great day!

Remember when you were little and thunder scared you? Mom would say, "Listen! God's moving around furniture up there!" - or - "Don't be afraid; that's the angels are bowling up a storm up there!" Anything to ease a child's fears! Well, now we're all grown-up and thunder doesn't scare us anymore...or does it?

"...and, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, a still, small voice (1 Kings 19: 11,12

"Lord, thank You for Your presence in the middle of the storm--that still small voice amid the rumble of thunder that lets me know YOU are there--24/7, always available to hear my call and quiet my heart. I accept Your peace for my life today, In Jesus Name, Amen."
