A daily cup of water from The Well, each workday, Monday through Friday--
to bring you His refreshing Word; to boost your spirit and start your day!
Come to the Well and refresh your spirit, body and soul. There's enough for us all!
Painkiller for a King?!?
Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way
Because He was not just a king...He was THE King of Kings and Lord of Lords, with willing and broken heart, dying for the sins of the world. Were He to accept the drugged drink offered Him, He would not fully know the pain we experience; He would never be able to totally identify with the subjects over whom He would reign. No, He would become one of us. He would bear the pain that we might know His peace. He would languish that we might know His love. He would sorrow that we would know His joy.
Are you hurting today? He knows the pain--He experienced it fully for you. Whether you're down in mind, body, spirit or soul, He's been there--He can help and He can heal. Believe it--and walk closely by your awesome, all-knowing King today!
Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the Water of His Word
"For we have not an high priest who cannot be touched with feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:15,16)."
Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day
With thanks to Songs of Praise for the beautiful music playing at Peggie's Place.

He was thirsty--but more than that, He was in agony of body, soul, mind and spirit. Pain we know nothing about, pain deeper than any medication could ever reach. "I thirst," He cried--surely a cool drink would bring some comfort. But it wasn't just a cool drink they brought Him--it was a drugged drink, and he refused. Why?
"Wherefore, in all things it behooved him to be made like his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to help them that are tempted (Hebrews 2:17,18)."
"Lord, I cannot comprehend the pain of the Cross. I can only cling to that blessed Cross in my own times of pain, knowing that YOU know, fully and completely, the pain that I experience. I come in adoration; I bow in acceptance of Your awesome love and grace this day. In Jesus Name, Amen."
