Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way
One in a Billion!
One in a billion--the latest population statistic from India, and in that one billion mass of people, God found him, a hungry heart, and helped him find Peggie's Place among the millions of Web sites on the Internet. He's an educated young man, fluent in the English language, from a Hindu family, and intensely interested in Christianity. For months we have corresponded regularly, as I attempt, with the Lord's help, to be his friend, to answer questions and to lead him into a full, personal knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ.
Do we serve a personal God? Indeed we do--remember that when you're feeling God to be so far away, so "apparently" unconcerned with what's happening in your life. After all, He's got millions of other Christians and non-Christians to care for and love too--why should He take a personal, unique, individualized interest in you--AND me??
Because He loves us uniquely and individually; because He died for us uniquely and individually--because you--and I--are the one in a billion billions who have called upon His Name; He hears, He watches, He loves and He cares. He knows your name, address, email and fax number! He know everything about you--you are in His personal care and important to Him, the God of the universe, the God who made a million, billion, zillion stars--and He knows YOU! Remember that today--and have a GREAT day under the loving eye of a great God!
Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the Water of His Word
"Fear not; for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine (Isaiah 43:1)."
Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day
"Lord, sometimes I feel forgotten in this great, big world--that You are much too busy to be involved in MY personal life. Not so! Help me realize You are vitally interested in everything I am or will ever be or do. You love me uniquely and individually--I am "one of a kind" in Your heart and mind. Make me aware of your ever-abiding presence and care in my life today. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
