Chat 'n Roar Play Time
A jungle playground where I play, play, play!
(Use easy-to-make "Turn-Around Twins" puppets-on-a-straw-with circle faces taped at the top of the straw, back-to-back-one is "Roar" and the other, "Chat.")
Roar: Oh, Chat, this is awful. It's raining SO hard and I am SO wet and SO hungry and thirsty and I am SOOO scared......Let's get out of here!
Chat (calling): HELP! Someone HELP us, please!
Roar: If someone just comes to rescue us, I will be good, promise. and I will never tease Teddie again. I will never call her names and I will never, never, never hit her! I promise.
Chat: Now THAT I want to see......but right now, I just want to see the rain STOP. I am scared!
Roar: Chat, the water is rising. It is flooding our home. We must go somewhere safe!
Chat: Where, Roar? Can we go to DisneyWorld? or Six Flags? or-hey, I just got a great idea. Let's go into the attic. We will be safe there.
Roar: YOU have a great idea? I can't believe it! Let's go.
(Five days later)v Chat and Roar watch the water rise almost to the attic and together they chop away a piece of the roof and stand right on the roof-SO scared!
Chat: I am SO scared, Roar. Does God see us? Will He protect us?
Roar: He MADE us, Chat, and I KNOW He watches over us......Let's make a BIG "HELP" sign-we will superglue it onto my tail and wave it so a helicopter sees us!
Chat: That sounds so silly, but OK, let's do it!p> (Do you think Roar and Chat were found by the helicopter pilots? I think they were-and did they go to Disneyland or Six Flags? NO-but they did get food and water-and a way of escape from the flood.)
Roar: Chat, look out-there's a big HUNGRY dragon on its way through this muddy town-I think he is going to grab your chocolate ice cream cone.....
Chat: WHERE? Roar, where is that dragon? (Teddie ZAPS the silly HELP sign off Roar's tail-OUCH!) Show me RIGHT now or I will pop you in the nose with my ice cream cone........i think you are teasing me AGAIN.....and you promised......... Roar (laughing): OK, I broke my promise. There is NO dragon.......I am sorry.....
Chat: I guess I have to forgive you, Roar. But we must hurry to our Bible club house......the story today is about Noah and the Big Ark......
Roar (teasing again) OH, THAT is where I saw the dragon......OK, let's go.
(Is there a dragon in the Ark? Let's find out as we listen to the story, and if Roar is teasing Chat again, she has our permission to pull Roar's tail. Do you agree?)

Chat 'n Roar Talk-Time
A jungle talk-time where I learn to love God, family, friends & ME!'
(Ask your family or some friends to help you play this game.) "Two by Two"-a Noah's Ark Game. Pretend you are Noah (or MRS. Noah) and bring all the animals into the Ark-beginning with the letter, "A," and all the way to "Z." Throw a ball back and forth; you or your friend must catch the ball and say, "I'm Mr. (or Mrs.) Noah and I am bringing two _______________ (name animal, bird or fish) into the Ark. If you can't think of a real animal, make up one with a funny name to match all the letters of the alphabet. ;-) --------------------------------------A prayer poem for the victims of Hurricane Katrina: Dear Lord, please help Katrina kids; For many days, in fear they hid The waters rose so high each day The kids and families cried and prayed. But still You watched, and still You cared You heard their cries and earnest prayers. Help us as kids and grown-ups too To show our love and make things new. New schools, new homes, new tops and jeans We want to show what real love means. It's the heart of God and our reaching out To hug a kid and heal a heart. Dear Lord, we pray for girls and boys Help us to share our clothes and toys We send our love and teddy bears But most of all, we send our prayers. In Jesus' Name, Amen. ;-) ---------------------------------------
