It's turkey time at Peggie's Place--a favorite holiday of Americans everywhere! There's a special cranberry Jell-O (tr) mold, wonderful stuffing, sweet potato casserole and all the trimmings--and don't forget the TURKEY! There's the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade on TV where all the couch potatoes, stuffed from dinner, stay tuned to watch a million football games! And then there's the REAL reason for Thanksgiving...Amidst all the food and fun, let's remember to thank our Lord for His bountiful blessings--things you can't get at a supermarket, a parade, a football game--or on sale--things like love, joy, peace, grace, and most of all eternal salvation and a loving relationship with a wonderful Savior. Thank You, Lord--You've been so good to us!
Enjoy the many links below which represent a cross-section of Christian and secular pages devoted to the Thanksgiving holiday.....and be thankful, not just today, but 365 days a year! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Lord, We Are Grateful
Lord, we are grateful for all You've given;
shelter and clothing, good food and health.
All these are gifts we rarely do treasure.
We are most wealthy, thanks to Yourself.
Lord, we are grateful for those who love us;
those we call family, those who are friends.
Loved, we can face the pressures life sends us.
Through those we cherish, Your love descends.
Lord, we are grateful for Your creation;
trees in fall splendor, dark stormy skies.
Nature reminds us of Your strong power.
Majestic beauty dazzles ours eyes.
Lord, we are grateful for Your rich mercy,
fresh as the morning, new every day.
Sin is forgiven. Guilt has been buried.
Gone is the debt we never could pay.
Lord, we are grateful that we can worship,
often and freely here in this place.
Harvest our praises, hear our thanksgiving
as we reflect on Your awesome grace.

BLESSING MIX
Recipe contributed by Danielle Neal to Homefires Hearth E-zine for Homemakers.
*Each ingredient in this snack mix symbolizes something associated with Thanksgiving.
2 cups Bugles brand corn snacks - shaped as a cornucopia, a horn of plenty.
2 cups pretzels - represent arms folded in thanks and prayer.
1 cup candy corn
(During the first winter, the Pilgrims were each allotted only 5 kernels of corn
per day because food was so scarce.)
1 cup dried or candy fruits - Thanksgiving is the celebration of the harvest.
1 cup peanuts or sunflower seeds
Seeds represent the potential of a bounteous harvest
for the next season if they are planted and well tended.
In a large bowl mix all ingredients together. Other ingredients such as dry cereals, candies, or marshmallows can also be added.
Make this mix as a family and eat while discussing each ingredient and how it relates to Thanksgiving.
Are you too stuffed to SING?
BE THANKFUL
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.
