"Remember...and Rejoice!!"
You see, the Lord has brought us through it all - illness, family crisis, life issues, relationships, work problems, church problems - you name it, and one of us has been there/done that - we may even have the T-shirt! BUT.....remember......we have a testimony of God's goodness and grace......We have the firm knowledge that He never changes; that the same God who came to our rescue years ago - or days ago - is STILL our Lord and our Lord....
OK, you and I forget - let's admit it - BUT there's One who NEVER forgets! HE remembers better than you ever will. He knows of your love, devotion, commitment and will to serve Him every day of your life......HE remembers what He did for Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Samuel, Mary, the blind man, the lame man, the dead man, the crippled woman, the sinful woman, etc., etc., etc! Sunday School "took" - and we can STILL recite those wonderful stories and add our own to the list.....
Remember His Word, His Grace, His Love, His Comfort, His Goodness, His Grace - remember and rejoice!
AND.... just remember, HE will not forget YOU this day....think back to a time when He was there for you - that same God is here for you today and will be with you - through the bad, sad, glad and had hours of your day, THIS DAY. He remembers who you are, where you are and the need you have. Believe it, trust Him, REMEMBER and REJOICE how He's led you all your life.....and you will have a wonderful day!

"The accuser of our brethren is cast down,

day and night (Revelation 12:10 KJV).
by Peggie C. Bohanon, Writer and Webmaster of Peggie's Place!
OK, so I'm a senior, and if, hopefully, I'm of a healthy mind, you do expect me to remember what I had for breakfast - but 30 - 40 - 50 years ago? Uh.....it's not ME asking you, it's GOD....and HE will remind you, at whatever age, of His goodness in the bad, sad, glad, and had days of your life...if you listen!
Everybody makes fun of our childhood!
Comedians joke.
Granddads snicker.
Twenty-something's shudder and say "Eeeew!"
But was our childhood really that bad?
Judge for yourself:
In 1953 The US population was less than 150 million...
Yet we knew more people then, and knew them better...And that was good.
The average annual salary was under $3,000...
Yet our parents could put some of it away for a rainy day and still live a decent life...
And that was good.
A loaf of bread cost about 15 cents...
But it was safe for a five-year-old to roller skate to the store and buy one...
And that was good.
Prime Time meant I Love Lucy, Ozzie and Harriet,
Gunsmoke and Lassie...
So nobody ever heard of ratings or filters...
And that was good.
We didn't have air conditioning...
So the windows stayed up and half a dozen mothers ran outside when we fell off a bike...
And that was good.
Our teacher was either Miss Boston or Mrs. Logan or Mr. Adkins...
But not Ms. Becky or Dan...
And that was respectful and good.
The only hazardous material we knew about...
Was a patch of thorny bushes or itchy balls (grass burrs) near the light pole at the corner...
And that was good.
We loved to climb into a fresh bed...
Because sheets were dried on the clothesline...
And that was good.
People generally lived in the same hometown with their relatives...
So "child care" meant grandparents or aunts and uncles...
And that was good.
Parents were respected and their rules were law....
Children did not talk back..... (and we weren't confused about our place in life)....
and that was good.
TV was in black-and-white...
But all outdoors was in glorious color....
And that was certainly good.
Mom made mud pies in the backyard with us and
sang "Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and smile, smile, smile....
with the radio at breakfast!"
No one was in a hurry to escape home.
She baked great bisquick muffins: 4" high and the butter wasn't a potential killer.
My Dad knew how to adjust everybody's carburetors...
And the Dad next door knew how to adjust all the TV knobs...
And that was very good.
Your grandma grew snap beans in the back yard...
And chickens behind the garage...
And that was definitely good.
And just when we were about to do something really bad...
Chances were we'd run into our Dad's high school coach...
Or the nosy old lady from up the street...
Or our little sister's piano teacher...
Or somebody from Church...
ALL of whom knew our parents...
And OUR first names...
And even THAT was good!
We were taught to respect people in uniforms......
We got up early and collected 2 and 5 cent deposit bottles,
and earned enough to buy our own candy
for the movies that week and the store owners
knew us and smiled when we brought those bottles in!
And that was good...........

and that marvelous invention..... the juke-box.
Didn't that feel good?
Just to go back and say, "Yeah, I remember that"!
And was it really that long ago?
