Now the light fixtures in Springfield, Missouri, have been far from firm this past week. Digging out of a flashlit/fire-lighted, 5-day power loss situation, we appreciate light - and light fixtures, the electrical kind! Believe me, it's no fun finding your flashlit way through dark, cold rooms, on your way to a freezing-to-death obituary!

Now, I exaggerate a bit, I admit - but you get the message. Light is a necessary element to comfortable daily living - FIXED light that's FIRM and not about to fall out of service because of a City Utilities power failure.

God's Word is fixed and firm, thank God! We can count on it when it's dark and cold in the bottomless despair pits of our hearts and our ways - it's the pits, for sure. But we're never without that light of God's Word that shines into those dark places of our lives with its steady, affirming, trustworthy beam. Sometimes, it's only enough light for one step - but it's there, we can trust it - it's ours as believers and followers of Jesus Christ, the Light of the World.

Let His divine light shine into your darkness this day; cling to His ever-fixed Word and you will have a bright, God-filled, choco-rich day!!
