Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for Today

"I'm No Dummy--and Neither Are You!"

Daily Manna's Bible reading: Proverbs 26:20-27 (NIV)

True or false: "Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you!" FALSE!! Words do hurt--deeply. When we think of word-piercing wounds, we immediately think of someone who's hurt us deeply, perhaps years ago, with some uncalled-for name or slur.

But wait a minute--we hurt ourselves with words when we belittle "me"--the person God made....and we do it all the time. "Dummy," we say to ourselves as we "do dumb things" all day long, "WHY did you do that!"

Well, I can tell you why you--or I--did "that"! It's because we're human; we're part of the fallen race and we make mistakes; we goof; we say or do the wrong things at the wrong time; we feel foolish--we are not perfect! Count how many times you call yourself a "dummy" today--and STOP it!

You are not a dummy--you are Designer-made, in God's image. He knows you completely - with all your warts - yet you are perfect in HIS eyes, no matter how many mistakes you make today! Now take a deep breath, go look in the mirror, smile and say to yourself, "I'm NO DUMMY--I'm perfect in my Father's eyes!"

Remember today to watch those words--against others - AND against yourself; and go have yourself a great, GOD-made, choco-rich day!
