Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

I love lions--when I view them at a distance in their friendly-safe zoo environment--and that's how most people view them too. But not THAT week! Attorney-General John Ashcroft found himself in the middle of a "den of lions"--the media roaring and reciting with great relish, his latest "terrible deed"--he was found PRAYING in his office!

It was an early-morning Bible study and prayer time in this Christian statesman's office, meeting with other Christians, completely voluntary--but the "windows" of "Daniel's abode" were wide open--and "Daniel" was heard! For shame! Hardly! Daniel would have been proud of him--and so were we. Unashamed of his faith in Christ, acknowledging his dependence for daily wisdom and guidance from the Lord he serves, Attorney-General John Ashcroft did not rate a scathing rebuke in the secular press; he did rate our admiration and pride - he is a Christian statesman extraordinaire!

During his term in office as Attorney-General of the USA, this up-to-date "Daniel," unafraid of the reaction of an unbelieving world, was a shining example to us all. No matter what our position in the workplace, we need the Lord and as long as He gives us breath, we will acknowledge our daily dependence on the God who rules over all--including the Justice Department of the United States of America!

Kings and kingdoms will someday voluntarily or involuntarily bow before the King of kings and Lord of lords. How reassuring to know there is at least one statesman--and many others, I'm sure--not afraid to be a Daniel--and not afraid to be heard! Lord, give us more "Daniels" in government - and in real life - to live righteously, stand fearlessly, and pray unceasingly...to be caught PRAYING "in the den!"

Dare to be a Daniel--and let the lions roar! You will please the Lord, your King--and you will have a wonderful, God-pleasing, choco-rich day!

Prayer: "Lord, thank You for Christian statesmen who stand unashamed to pray and seek Your face for guidance, wisdom and daily direction. May we too be prepared to do the same, whatever the cost, In Jesus Name, Amen."
