Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

"Throw-away Faith!?!"

Daily Manna's Bible reading: Hebrews 10:32-35 (NIV)

We live in the throw-away generation! We throw away paper plates, paper cups, paper napkins, paper everything! We buy gadgets to use one time and throw away. We keep buying and keep throwing away and are proud of our latest "finds" in easy-to-use, throw-away treasures. Some people even throw away their spouses and kids (I plan to keep mine and hope you do too!), but let's face it--it's one take-it-and-leave it, throw-away world out there!
Now if you're an efficient, effervescent, on-the-ball homemaker, you've learned HOW to throw things away. You secure three garbage bags, mark each one "Keep," "Give Away" and "Throw Away" and room by room, you unclutter the clutter, filling up the three bags. It's supposed to work...I'm not the efficient, effervescent, on-the-ball homemaker so I don't know...
I do know one thing we should NEVER throw away...and that's our faith! But how often we get discouraged and disheartened, and all our trust and confidence in the Lord goes into that throw-away bag...He's not answered our prayers yet, or the way we WANT Him to; He's not on time--as we THINK He should be--where IS He, and WHY is He not doing something to help! Now know one thing: that tempting throw-away bag is from the tempter of all time, who'd like to throw YOU away along with your faith too--don't give him HOUSE-ROOM!
"Cast not away your confidence!"--be sure to place it in the "Keep It" bag today--it's priceless and a treasure from God. Hang on to it--HE is your confidence, not your circumstances, your friends, your family, or even yourself! Believe it--and have a GREAT treasure-filled day!
Prayer: "Lord, sometimes I keep what I should throw away; sometimes I throw away what I should keep. Help me hang onto the confidence in YOU which comes from faith in a true and living God, who does hear and answer prayer; who does intervene in the affairs of men; who IS my stedfast and secure Keeper of all which I commit unto Him. I trust You, Lord, with my life and my all. Be my confidence this day. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
