I grew up loving come-and-go parties! You see, my pastor dad had a Christmas tradition of visiting every family in his small congregation at Christmas time. We'd make the rounds of two or three houses a night, until each home had been visited. Of course, goodies awaited us everywhere--it was wonderful!
And NOW that I have this virtual worldwide congregation, wouldn't it be FUN to come-and-go to your house--all over the world....my goodness, I'd need a sleigh as fast as Santa's--and I just know ya'll would have chocolate awaiting me everywhere I went....can you imagine...chocolate from around the world...I'd throw the diet out the window and party around the clock.....And then when i woke up from my virtual dream, and reality hit, I'd be one very fat--but very happy, very sweet woman!
So much for fantasy...what we are celebrating today is not fantasy...it's for real. AND it's a come-and-go party unlike any you've ever attended!
COME with me to the manger, the Sea of Galilee, the Cross, the Empty Tomb--celebrate the coming to earth of God's Only Begotten Son. He came to bring us life, liberty and a love we cannot comprehend. "O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!"
Then GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN to the far corners of our world, via the Web, to proclaim that glorious birth, life, death and resurrection of our wonderful Lord. The Internet, with all of its complicated, creative technology has opened a door for all peoples to hear the Gospel--and we must GO with it to the ends of the earth.
It's a COME AND GO party that has no cover charge, no curfew, no color preference....and you're invited! But hold on--for it gets better! Someday He will COME and we will GO to be with Him forevermore...where the "party" will continue and never end! Until then, let's celebrate Christmas today--in our hearts, our homes, and our world--it's the beginnings of the best party you'll ever attend!
