"Guess Who Voted for YOU!"

On Election Day 2004 our son would get up VERY early--not to eat a well-balanced breakfast, brush his teeth or make his bed--all recommended activities that Moms everywhere would endorse--but as a 20-year old responsible American citizen to vote for the candidate of his choice on his first Election Day. A wonderful privilege, a proud event--and whether it's your first or sixty-first election, I hope, if you're eligible and living (!!), you will join us tomorrow to vote for the candidate of your choice.
When our son walked into that ballot booth, he would have certain options, one of which would include a "write-in candidate" of his choice. Now I don't think he had any plan to write in "MOM for President" - heaven forbid! - but I know SOMEONE who's already been to the voting booth a LONG time ago--before the foundation of the earth--and has voted for ME--and YOU--He's "written-in" our names on heaven's rolls. A marvelous, mysterious, unexplainable process, whereby He knew we would someday accept Him as Savior and Lord. He CHOSE me--He CHOSE you--He knows us by name. That's a VOTE that no devil in hell can destroy, duplicate or demand to be withdrawn!
Listen to God's Word: "Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's ELECT? (Romans 8:33)." We are "ELECT according to the foreknowledge of God, the Father (1 Peter 1:2)"; we are "CHOSEN...in him before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4)"..."to the praise of the glory of his grace, through which he hath made us ACCEPTED in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6)."
Understand it? No way! The theological debate of Predestination (He chose me; therefore I chose Him--or "whosoever may will come") versus Arminianasm (I chose Him; there He chose me--or "whosoever will may come"), while fascinating, is far beyond me (I do offer links below for the trusted theological brains among us). This one thing I know--He has chosen me--I am HIS!
My son may never "write-in" my name for first woman president of the United States; but that's ok! Someone bigger and better has written MY name in the Lamb's Book of Life--and that's enough for me! And that's enough for you too--and any devil in hell who might seek to wipe out that vote. It's written in the Blood of the Lamb--and as we stay beneath that Blood, we are safe, secure, and sealed by God Himself. Believe THAT--and you will have a wonderful day!
Prayer: "Lord, thank You for thinking of me and loving me before I was ever born; You have chosen me - I have chosen you, a mystery I cannot explain, but I can feel. Thank You today for the "vote of confidence" You have placed on my life; may I ever live for You and bring glory to Your Name, In Jesus' Name, Amen."
