Families come in all sizes, shapes and colors. Mine is a pretty crazy one, full of off-the-wall, offbeat people--and an awful lot of love! If you're lucky, yours may be the same--life would be boring without these people with whom we live, whom we love, whom we like (some days more than others!)--and with whom we're stuck! Don't get to choose your family--with ONE exception!
We all got to choose the family of God--and for better or for worse, we're now all stuck with each other--for ALL eternity! Now that should be motivation for all of us to get our acts together, learning to love and live with one another HERE - and that's a lifelong process, for sure. We're all different--and yet bonded together by the precious Blood of Christ. We're brothers and sisters and it's all in God's plan--that we might love, listen, learn, laugh with, and lighten one another's loads.
God's great big family has just gotten bigger in the last few years--with the advent of cyberspace and the World Wide Web. Now smiles and sighs, celebrations and sorrows, our prayers and God's promises, fly around the world, day and night, and within seconds, into our overflowing email boxes. Little notes and big epistles, laughter and tears from friends we've never met in person, brothers and sisters in Christ whom we love like our own. THAT'S the family of God--it's great, it's big, it's wonderful--and it's ours!
May we celebrate it daily, joining holy hands around the world in friendship, love, laughter--and prayer. SO many needs come into my mailbox and into yours too, I'm sure. I'm aware of the great burdens and problems, the illnesses and tragedies that so many face as they plead for prayer. We may never meet in person on earth--but we can, this day--and every day--meet around the Throne of Grace to bring the needs of our worldwide brothers and sisters to His feet. Meet you THERE--God be with you all--and have a wonderful day!

Lord, we're a great big wonderful family on the Web--most of us have never met in person, yet we feel joined together with one another and with You on this incredible NET connection called the Web. We come as one big family from Peggie's Place, hundreds of us from all over the world, to bow in thanksgiving, worship and prayer for the many needs we each represent. Remind us to meet at thy Throne each day to bring the needs of our brothers and sisters to You--thanks for being a wonderful Heavenly Father to us all. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
