Last year we had a "magic man" staying in our home, attending and performing at a national children's conference in our city last year. Nothing disappeared from my house, including the mess in my son's room and the "dust people" under our beds. My famous "cherry cheesecake" DID disappear FAST!
Let me put you at ease--no MAGIC happened at Peggie's Place that week! We don't DO magic.....it's all illusion, believe me! Ask Jason, the trickster!
Some people think God is a magician--"He does hocus-pocus in the sky and it happens!" Some people doubt His existence--"He's an illusion, a figment of your imagination!" Then there is a body of believers who KNOW He is real--not a magician, not even a bona-fide illusionist--and certainly not the kind of "magic man" who tricks and fools you into believing a lie. We've got an enemy who can do that VERY well! Ask Eric, who has seen men and women, boys and girls, released from the chains of THAT old trickster, and won into the Kingdom of God!
No, Jesus Christ is not the "Magic Man." He is the Miracle Man...both Son of Man and Son of God. He who joined with the Father to make a world out of nothing, He who created birds that fly, lions that roar, mice that squeek and monkeys that screech, created you and me too--out of the dust of the earth. He breathed into us the breath of life--and we are living souls.
When we break down, He fixes us; when we fall apart, He mends us; when we're in trouble, He saves us. When we've blown it, He picks up the pieces, puts them together and makes something beautiful out of our lives. He can rescue us from the "lions' den;" He can deliver us from the pit; He can redeem us from the wicked one. It's not magic--it's a miracle...and I'm glad I know Him, aren't you!
He's no illusion--He's real, and He's mine! The "magic man" may do some remarkable things this week...but he's got a Lord who does real miracles..and so do we! Believe on Him, trust Him fully--your sins will disappear, your darkness turn to light, your heart be made white as snow--for He's the Miracle Man, the Miracle God--and He's mine--and yours. Whatever He has promised you this day, you can count on Him to perform. Believe it--and have a great day!
