Happy New Millennium--or is it? Our family houses two math-freaked teens who insisted that the millennium is NEXT year, and announced that they were "boycotting" the millennium hoopla THIS year. No problem, for you see, Mom had the perfect test of sincerity for her smart sons' scientific theory. She had planned a millennium party--with FOOD--and with glee, watched to see what would happen. You guessed it--they blew their own premise and participated with hardly a protest!

Joey and Jason were not the only persons on our planet obsessed or non-obsessed with millennium fever. It was everywhere--and Mom, who daily opens her cyberspace home to worldwide guests, loved every millennial minute she got to watch on TV! It was wonderful to observe worldwide celebrations as the New Year dawned around the world. AND then to see if phones and computers and Internet connections worked (and MINE did not for a few scary minutes--I thought the BUG had hit here!). The world did not blow up or burn up and we have rolled over into the year 2000 with barely a bump. The "bug" sure tried to run--or ruin--our world but it didn't win--so far!

There's ANOTHER bug - a dangerous, evil one, out to get us all--and that could be very scary--IF we did not know who was at the controls. The "Manual" tells us that GOD is at the controls. He is in charge and as Master of the Millenium and Master of my life, I--and you--have nothing to fear! So forget for a little while the madness and mirth of the so-called "new millennium," put down your noisemakers, take off your party hats, shut off the TV and head towards the Well to meet HIM, the REAL Master of the Millennium!

A Helping Word...or Two!

The Master of the Millennium is Omnipotent!

He's been with me in power, Almighty power! I need to only see my life in review and KNOW, without a doubt, that He's led, guided, managed, controlled, and planned my life in the best way possible. His power has worked mightily in my behalf--for body, soul, and spirit--and that same Master carries His might into the New Millennium. Devils may taunt, demons may try, but they tremble in the presence of the Almighty Lord of the universe, who has conquered sin, death and hell forever. AND that Almighty Lord lives within me, guards around me and walks beside me into the New Year. "All hail the power of Jesus Name...and crown Him Lord of all!"

The Master of the Millennium is Omniscient!

He knows me--now that could be scary, if you're not living right! If you ARE walking in His Light, it is the most comforting word you can know today. For He knows me--my downsittings, my uprisings, my thoughts, my fears and anxieties, my hopes and dreams. He knows me by NAME--I am loved, protected, guided--AND understood. Now sometimes my family and friends may not understand me--sometimes I don't understand myself. But I've got a Master who knows all about me and loves me anyway! That Master will walk with me into the New Year, knowing full well His plan and purpose for my life, knowing completely my high points and low points, my weaknesses and strengths. He's there to help me grow and know His will and His ways. He's my Master and I crown Him Lord of all!

The Master of the Millennium is Omnipresent

He's with me, now and forevermore! He's been present in my past--let me stand and testify! He is with me NOW--let me remember that even in the tough times! And He will be with me in the future--let all hell hear it and shake! He has promised to "never, never leave" and to "never, never forsake" and His Word is true. I carry that Word into the New Millennium with deep assurance in my heart. Ripples of the sea may disturb, but underneath is the river of God's love to carry me--and you--from the past, in the present and on to the future in His perfect plan and purpose. He's everywhere with me--and you--at work, play, home, church--AND the Internet. (And if you KNOW He's present with you on the NET, you'll act accordingly--a little thought just thrown in for good measure!) He walks with me into the New Millennium, an "ever present help in time of need," for He's my Master....and I do crown Him Lord of all!

Bash whatever is BUGGING you--past, present or future, and know that the Master of the Millenium--the God of perfect power, knowledge and presence--is in full control. He walks with us into a brand new century--actually, He's already been there, so what have we to fear! Smile--'cause He loves you--yesterday, today and forever! And have a wonderful New Year--wherever in the world you live! May you know His love, peace and joy in this coming year...and of course, in the "New Millennium"--or IS it? Ask my boys!
