Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for Today! - "The Afterglow: Happy, Heavenly Holiday of the Heart!?!"

Daily Manna's Bible reading - Mark 7:14-23 (NIV)

The afterglow: Seems like all the world went to mush this month - hearts and flowers everywhere - on overload! This love-sick "happy, heavenly holiday of the heart" can bring happiness or hurt - bigtime - so before we hang the paper hearts on a willow tree for another year, let's dig a little deeper....you've probably had too much candy already anyway!

Have you noticed the "anti-Valentine's" Day sentiment picking up popularity in our culture? Caustic, cynical, anti-complimentary - bringing laughs not love - for those who really hate the holiday and want to make fun of it....

It's a HEART thing - either way - nasty or nice, it all comes out....or does it? We indulge in the candy which enters and exits the bodily system (except for the fat that stays!!).....how romantic...chuckle.....but Jesus understood and taught the real principle of the heart and it has nothing to do with our food intake, chocolate included!

You see, what goes into the HEART takes up residence there and from its depository - love or hate - comes forth words, thoughts and deeds to match--the good, the bad and the ugly! Unless or until cleansed and protected by the Blood of Christ, the heart of man is far from the image on the lacy, lovely cards - it stinks - and even we, as believers, need His "garbage pickup" each day.

I'm ramblin' like a Valentine rose - but do I make sense? Let the garbage you hear and see every day - just by LIVING in a dirty old world - pass through the system immediately. Let it go - and hold on to the lovely things of life - the grace of God, the love of Christ, the peace of the Holy Spirit.....let the fragrance of these things fill and flow from your life.

Believe it, receive it, share the good things of God - AND your chocolate - and you will have a "God-filled, choco-rich, "HEAVENLY holiday of the heart" every day, all year long!

Prayer: "Lord, may our hearts not harbor the filth of this world. Cleanse us daily so out of the depths of our hearts will flow love, joy and peace to our wicked, sinful world - even this day, in Jesus' Name, Amen."
