A Daily Delight of God's Word and a mini-devotional to start your day!
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!
Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for Today: "Tell the Kids!"

Daily Manna's Bible reading - Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NIV) .
He was four years old. I had just finished devotions with little Joey, explained simply the plan of salvation, and asked if he wanted to ask Jesus to come into his heart....He said, "Yes," and knelt at my knee to pray. I'll never forget that precious moment. But that was not the end. The prayer finished - and HEARD - little Joey lifted up his t-shirt and said, "Jesus, are You in there?"A family story we love to relate.....but this little boy, now 25, became passionate about Bible quiz and as a high school senior was a national Teen Bible Quiz champion. In the course of the competitions, he had memorized 13 books of the Bible. He continues to attend quiz events, now as a judge or quizmaster, wherever in the country it may be.
Do I believe in Bible education and Christian learning for kids? You better believe it, but it goes far beyond telling Bible stories...it includes telling YOUR story...the wonderful things God has done for you, in you and through you.....sure, make the stories real - but BE REAL..include the bad times and how Jesus brought you through.....let your kids see Jesus in you - past AND present. And that's not all - on the "bad days" when you "mess up" and are not the saint you want to be, admit it; let them see how you process through to the forgiveness that Christ gives!
Bring your kids to the Cross - WITH you - always pointing to the Savior, who loves us all, died for us all and lives for us all, generation after generation. What a responsibility - but what a legacy we have - to tell the kids! Let's tell them the blessed old story, let's live out the blessed old story - and watch them, by God's grace, take up the Cross and follow Him, the Christ of all time, for all time, Lord of all for time AND eternity!
Let's tell the kids (and the GRANDKIDS!) - and they too will have a wonderful, God-filled day - and hey, take them out for a big chocolate sundae and celebrate Jesus, Lord of all!
