Anybody here enjoy getting a shot in the arm? I mean the kind kids love to hate--and the kind YOU get every fall to fight the flu! Thank God for medicine that heals--and even for shots that hurt! But--ouch--can't you feel it now?
There are days when we all need a "shot in the arm" that no doctor or nurse can give--the kind that boosts your spirit when you're down, that picks you up when you hit the ground. IS there such a thing? Let's ask some Bible people to roll up their sleeves, hold out their arms and tell us what happened!
Ask Paul and Silas, whose arms were held fast in the jail stocks--a song of praise became a shot in the arm for them! Ask David in the fields, whose arm became poised in slingshot power--power of the Lord--to meet the foe; ask Moses, his arms grown weak in war, his friends sent by God to hold them up; weakness turned to strength and a battle was won.
God loves His people--He did back in Bible days and He does now. JUST when we're at our lowest or neediest point, just when we're ready to give in--or give up, God sends an angel with "a shot in the arm" into our lives--to put a song in our soul, a slingshot--or a Sword--in our hand and His strength in our heart! Sometimes those angels may be real angels sent from God; sometimes they're simply believers, in tune with His spirit--and sent from God to hold up our weary arms in prayer.
God's got angels all around--angels of mercy, angels of might, angels of miracles. They're heavenly experts in giving shots to the afflicted, the discouraged, the distressed--and to YOU today, whatever you are going through! Believe it--and begin to look for a heavenly booster shot, prescribed just for you! No appointment necessary; no charge required; no pain to endure! Fully funded by heaven's resources--and freely given in the Name of the Lord. Heaven's aide--and aid--is on the way to you today. Believe it, roll up your sleeve, get ready to receive it--and have a wonderful day!
