The military uniform and equipment you wear and use with pride is essential to your safety and preparedness for war with an evil enemy. But there's another set of gear you can't be without. It comes from an unseen world as real as ours and it's called "The Christian Armor of God." Been prepared by heaven and its Commander-in Chief for your spiritual safety and well-being. The Helmet of Salvation
Need some head protection? A military mask might help, but there's MIGHTY more--from an unseen world where Jesus is Lord. Your mind may play all kinds of tricks and games with you, whether you're the fighter or the family--but when His helmet of salvation covers your mind, you can know His perfect peace, no matter what's happening in your life right now. May His peace be yours today.
The Breastplate of Righteousness
Need some protection for your heart and a way to maintain your purity? God has the answer--He's prepared the Breastplate of Righteousness for you. By keeping in His Word daily, by talking to the "Chief" daily, you'll be protected and prepared for spiritual warfare sure to attack the heart, the vulnerable place you must guard--for yourself and for your family. God's there to help you--daily--be sure to wear this important piece of armor each day.
The Belt of Truth
Need a solid foundation of truth in your life? The belt of truth is God's way of providing the integriy and character you need to face the battles of life. He IS Truth and accepting Him into your life, you can know HIS truth to reside within you. We assimilate His truth into our lives by a close relationship with the One who says, "I am the way, the truth and the life." May you live in His truth--even when it's hard! Wear the belt with pride--and may His words of truth be yours this day.
The Shield of Faith
So what's the opposite of faith? Fear? You bet--and we're all vulnerable, whether we're at home buying duct tape or on the field fighting the foe. Fear grabs you and holds on to snatch your very breath away--if you let it. So what to do? Put on the shield of faith that your Commander-in-Chief recommends--it's the best! Faith in an omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent God (He's there, He knows, and He has power) can be yours--even in the middle of crisis--don't let down your shield. That's when you need it most - to know HE knows, HE's there and HE has power to take care of you.
The Sword of the Spirit
"For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)."
A sword in these modern days of warfare? You'd better believe it--but it's not the best sword from the oldest medieval castle in our world; you'll not find it in a military museum or an archaelogical dig. It's God's Holy Word--your chief weapon against the wiles of the wicked one...not Hussein, evil as he is--but someone who directs him from Hell itself--your enemy and mine. Satan has no use for God or His people--if you're one of them look out, but do not fear. You've got an offense and a defense against Him--the Word of God. Hide it in your heart, use it to defeat the purposes of the evil one--and remember, "we've read the back of the Book--and we WIN!"
